How to Assign a Resident to an Escalation

Learn how to assign a resident to a fall escalation, resident call or assistance call.

On This Page

What

This feature lets you choose which resident was involved in an escalation. When reviewing or closing an escalation, simply select the resident involved, if any, to link them to the escalation.

Why

Residents often move between rooms throughout the day. Without assigning the correct person to an escalation, it’s unclear who needs follow-up. This step ensures that the right resident receives the right care and helps build accurate data to prevent future incidents. It also keeps the escalation log clear and reliable for caregivers and families.

The escalations linked to a resident also show in their Resident Insights. This gives you a clear overview of the escalations a resident has had, and a better view of their care needs.

Detailed Steps

When you close an escalation, the Close this escalation? screen opens. What you are asked there depends on the type of escalation.

Fall escalations

  1. Choose how long to snooze fall detection.
  2. Confirm whether it was an actual fall: choose “actual fall”, “not a fall” or “no idea, analysis is required”.
  3. If you chose “actual fall”, press Next in the Nobi Mobile App. In the web application, the next questions show on the same screen.
  4. Use the dropdown to select the resident who fell, and choose the cause of the fall.
  5. When finished, press Close escalation.

You only select a resident when it was an actual fall.

Resident calls

  1. Use the dropdown to select the resident involved.
  2. Choose the cause of the resident call.
  3. When finished, press Close escalation.

Assistance calls

  1. Use the dropdown to select the resident involved, or choose No resident involved.
  2. Choose the cause of the assistance call. For an app-triggered assistance call, the cause is already filled in.
  3. When finished, press Close escalation.

If a resident was already linked when assistance was requested in the Nobi Mobile App, you are not asked to select a resident again.

If a resident in a single-person housing unit has fallen or pressed their call button, their name appears as the default resident involved.
