What

The auto-snooze feature automatically pauses fall detection when Nobi detects more than one person in a single-person housing unit. This feature is built into Nobi(ta) lights and needs no manual setup. Please note that if Nobi is not sure about the situation, it will not turn on auto-snooze. Safety always comes first.

Why

In care settings, staff often help residents on the floor with tasks like dressing or foot care. This can accidentally trigger Nobi’s fall detection. Auto-snooze turns on when Nobi detects movement from more than one person. This reduces unnecessary escalations without putting safety at risk, and makes sure Nobi only starts fall escalations for real falls. To make sure no falls go unreported, auto-snooze is not turned on in multi-resident housing units.

Auto-snooze in practice

Awareness: Auto-snooze turns on automatically when Nobi detects more than one person in a single-person housing unit. For auto-snooze to turn on, both people need to move around the room enough for Nobi to detect more than one person. This is a built-in safety measure. It stops a still object that the light could see as a person (for example, a drawing or painting of a person) from turning on auto-snooze. Once auto-snooze is on, movement is no longer needed. It stays on until there is only one person in the room again.

Dashboard notification: When auto-snooze is on, the dashboard shows ‘Snoozed (>1 person)’ to show the light’s current status.

Deactivation: Auto-snooze turns off when the light detects fewer than 2 people, and the light works as normal again. Auto-snooze also turns off if one of the people in the room does not move for 15 minutes.
