Escalations via Nobi Mobile App

In this article you will discover how the Escalations via Nobi mobile app feature helps care teams respond faster to escalations.

What

With this feature, care staff can respond to escalations directly in the Nobi mobile app. Any device with the app installed becomes a response point right away, without the need for phone calls.

Care teams stay reachable without relying on their personal devices, or on phone calls that reach one phone at a time. They can call residents through the light directly from the app. From the same screen, they can also set a snooze time or record what caused the escalation.

This feature doesn’t replace the existing escalation procedure. It works together with it to make responding faster and more flexible.

Escalations via Nobi Mobile App is not the same as requesting assistance in the Nobi Mobile App. This feature is how Nobi alerts care staff about an escalation. Requesting assistance is how a caregiver starts an assistance call from the app.

Why

Not every community allows personal phones during shifts. Some have only one shared device with an active SIM card or phone number. This feature solves that problem. When an escalation happens, everyone signed in to the Nobi mobile app for that day’s shift receives an alert. The first person to respond presses On my way to confirm. From that moment, that person is assigned and visible in the app. Others can join in if needed. Everyone stays informed, no alerts are missed, and there is no confusion about who is going.

A typical shift with the Escalations via Nobi mobile app feature

For a member of care staff using the Escalations via Nobi mobile app feature, a normal day looks something like this:

  • Care staff sign in to the Nobi app and select the departments they’re covering that day.
  • When a fall escalation, resident call or assistance call starts, all devices signed in to that working area receive an alert.
  • When care staff receive an alert, they press On my way to take charge. The others hear who responded first. If they can’t help, they can decline with Can’t right now.
  • If no one responds within the set wait time, the regular escalation procedure continues and Nobi starts calling the phone numbers. You set this wait time in the Procedure tab of Escalation flow. Learn how here.
  • If no caregiver is signed in and free in the app, Nobi starts the phone calls right away.
