Escalation Auto-Close

Here you'll discover how Nobi can automatically close an open escalation after it has been confirmed.

What

Nobi can automatically close an open fall escalation after it has been confirmed.

If Nobi detects that no one is lying or sitting on the floor for five minutes, it can close the fall escalation automatically. This is called an auto-closed escalation.

This can only happen after the fall escalation has been confirmed.

There are two ways to confirm it:

  • A caregiver claims the escalation in the Nobi Mobile App by pressing On my way (when the Escalations via Nobi Mobile App feature is turned on).
  • A caregiver answers the phone call from Nobi and presses “1” to confirm the escalation.

Resident calls, such as resident calls from a pull cord, and assistance calls cannot be auto-closed.

Why

This feature helps care staff focus on helping residents instead of on closing escalations.

Sometimes a resident has already been helped after a fall, but the fall escalation is still open in the application. In these cases, staff need to close the escalation manually in the Nobi Mobile App or the web application.

Automatic closing removes that extra step and reduces unnecessary follow-up.

Automatic Escalation Closure

After a fall, caregivers often help the resident right away. The fall escalation can stay open, even though help was already given and the resident no longer needs it. Closing the escalation manually can create extra work and follow-up, or take attention away from the resident’s needs.

Auto-close removes this extra step. When a resident has already been helped, caregivers do not need to go back to the application to close the escalation or press the presence button.

At the same time, some care settings need strict control over how escalations are handled. Closing an escalation manually can be important for reporting or internal procedures.

By turning auto-close on or off, you decide how much control or automation fits the way your team works.

You can turn this feature on or off with the Close automatically setting in the Preferences tab of Escalation flow. It is on by default.
