What
Integrations connect external systems to Nobi. Person Centred Software (PCS) is a master data integration. Master data integrations connect Nobi with the system your community already keeps its resident records in.
Resident information is mapped from PCS to Nobi, where PCS service users become residents. Departments, housing units and rooms are managed in Nobi. Nobi sends resident-related escalations back to PCS as care notes. These appear in the resident’s care report details in PCS.
Why
By connecting PCS to Nobi, both platforms work together without care staff having to enter the same resident information twice. This keeps resident data consistent between PCS and Nobi and helps prevent duplicate residents.
Care teams can also see relevant Nobi escalation information in PCS automatically, without anyone entering it again.
1. What to set up before you start
- Request your API key from PCS. PCS support handles this request and provides a custom API key for your location. One PCS location connects to one Nobi community.
- Add the integration in Nobi. Choose Person Centered Software under master data integrations, select whether you use the UK or AU PCS URL, and enter the API key.
- Once the integration is added, its status shows Unmapped. Clicking Map imports the resident information from PCS.
- In the mapping overview, residents already in Nobi are mapped to their PCS service user. The overview shows how many residents will be created and how many still need to be mapped. A resident who is not a PCS service user is left unmapped, and their information is not synced with PCS.
- PCS service users who are not mapped to an existing resident are created as new residents in Nobi. If such a service user already exists in Nobi as an unmapped resident, they may appear twice.
- Mapping can take up to 30 minutes. Once it is complete, the status changes to Connected.
2. What comes from PCS
Resident information, such as the resident’s name, comes from PCS. Changes made in PCS reach Nobi with the hourly sync.
You can also click Synchronize on the PCS integration page to update straight away. PCS allows 2 synchronizations per hour for each integration, and may use data cached in the last 2 minutes. Clicking Synchronize several times in a short period may not bring in new data immediately.
3. What Nobi sends back
When care staff choose the resident involved in an escalation, such as a fall or a resident call, Nobi sends it to PCS as a care note on that resident’s record. When the escalation is updated or closed in Nobi, the care note in PCS is updated too.
Care notes are created for residents who are mapped to a PCS service user. In a multi-person housing unit, the care note goes to the resident chosen as involved in the escalation.
4. Connection status
The status of the integration is shown on the PCS integration page. If Nobi can no longer connect to PCS with the saved API key, the status changes to Unhealthy and Map is unavailable. Managers and technicians receive a technical issue email about the lost connection.
To restore the connection, enter the correct API key in the integration settings. The status returns to Connected.
